So many articles show you how to get lighter skin. This article will show you not only how to whiten skin, but how to maintain it with a rosy glow. Most of these methods are unverified home remedies. If you are worried about possible side effects or skin discoloration, see your doctor or dermatologist for advice.

Steps

Increase your Vitamin C intake. This enhances skin color and suppleness. This will help keep your skin strong by maintaining its basic support structure—collagen. You can increase Vitamin C intake by:
    • Eating more foods that contain Vitamin C. This includes citrus like lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas.
    • Taking Vitamin C pills. If you chose to do it this way, you should take 250 mg/day. Do not go beyond this amount.

Eat more Vitamin A. Since your skin is basically composed of Retinol, which is Vitamin A, this will help keep your skin healthy and strong. If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A.
    • Foods that are high in Vitamin A include nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks. You can also get Vitamin A by eating foods that are high in beta carotene, which will help minimize the effects of sun damage to your skin. These include carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce.

Minimize your exposure to sunlight and pollution. Apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 whenever you are outdoors. UVA/UVB rays are known to be harmful to your skin because they slow down your body's ability to repair damaged skin cells and clear dead ones. Pollution is also a major cause of acne and dull skin tone.

Use skin lightening products — with care. Skin lightening products with hydroquinone or kojic acid reduce the amount of melanin in the skin when applied.[1]These can be effective, but they come with certain risks:
    • Skin whitening products have been associated with toxic levels of mercury, and therefore, with mercury poisoning. The FDA regulates the use of hydroquinone in the U.S, and so it's relatively safe. 1 out of every 4 skin whitening agents from China, however, contains mercury, and so should be used with caution.[1]
    • Be careful about sun exposure when using skin whitening agents. Prolonged sun exposure can lead to skin cancer.[1] Always use appropriate sunscreen and other sun protection when exposed to sunlight.
    • Bleaching agents can cause irritation and allergic reactions in some people. Bleaching agents with steroids, such as kojic acid, may put you at risk for health problems associated with steroid use.

Drink water to stay hydrated. Invest in a personal water bottle and keep it with you throughout the day.

Exercise daily for 30-60 minutes. Doing so will help you de-stress and let your body detoxify.

Mix raw sugar with oil. Scrub this lightly on your face. Do not use oil if you have normal to oily skin. Use honey in place of oil. It will leave the skin lightly moisturized, which is desirable for oily skin types.

Use lemon to lighten your skin color. The citric acid in lemon slowly works away at the pigments in your skin, but this treatment will take a while. Mix equal parts fresh lemon juice and water into a spray bottle and apply evenly over skin you wish lightened. Consider:
    • Avoid exposure to sunlight. When using lemon and other skin-lightening products, always use sunscreen and avoid unnecessary time in the sun. Lemons and lemon juice can dry out skin, making it susceptible to sun damage.
    • Try using lemon or lemon juice only every other day. Lightening your skin with lemon juice will take a long time, so it's tempting to try to apply a mask or lemon juice every day. Try to stick to 3-4 applications every week. Lemon juice dries out the skin too much to apply every day.
    • Be aware of what products you put on your skin. Much of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body. If you are using other ingredients in addition to lemon juice as a peel, a wash, a lotion, or a mask, use good judgment about whether you'd want it in your bloodstream.

Make a face mask. The following options will whiten your skin and improve your complexion.
    • Cucumber mask. Put a cucumber, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 5 teaspoons of honey, and 5 teaspoons of milk into a blender. Blend until well mixed. Pour mixture into a bowl. Stir in flour until the mixture gets a thick consistency. Refrigerate for 6 hours. Apply to your face once daily after you shower. You should leave it on for 15-20 minutes, and wash it off with warm water and a clean towel.
    • Amaranth juice mask. Blend 1/4 cup amaranth juice or 1 cup of amaranth leaves with a small amount of lukewarm water leave for 15 to 25 minutes.
    • Mint and floral cream. Put a handful of almonds, fresh rosebud paste, honey and 5 tablespoons of fresh mint juice into a blender. Blend until creamy. Apply the cream every night before bed. If refrigerated, the cream should last about one week.

Make use of other home remedies. Other home remedies using items commonly found around the house may help you whiten your skin while giving it a rosy luster.
    • Make a potato mask. Potatoes may contain bleaching agents that make the skin lighter while treating blemishes. Mash raw potato into a pulp, make a paste with a bit of milk, and apply to skin, leaving for 15 minutes. Alternately, apply raw potato slices to skin and leave for 15 minutes.
    • Make an almond mask. Soak some almonds in water overnight. Dump out water, blend almonds with either honey or milk, and apply as a paste to skin. After it dries, wash it off gently.
    • Make a tomato mask. Another natural bleaching agent, tomato can be mixed raw with a bit of lemon juice and applied as a paste to the skin. Leave for 15 minutes before washing off.

  • How do I remove a black dot on my skin?
    • Try a cream that includes alpha hydroxy acids or hydroquinone, but expect it to take several months of regular application to fade completely. A dermatologist may be able to remove it more quickly. Visit a dermatologist if the dot has a rough border, asymmetric shape, variation in color, or if it's larger than 6 mm (¼ inch) across. These are possible signs of melanoma skin cancer.

    • Vitiligo is difficult to treat. It's best to consult a doctor who can prescribe a treatment that's right for you. In the meantime, wearing sunscreen and reducing stress helps some people avoid the development of new or larger patches.

Browse & Extract iTunes Backups of an iPhone or iPad

How to...
Introduction
Maybe you're just curious and want to know what files get copied when you backup your iPhone using iTunes. Maybe you need to access certain backed up databases from your iPhone such as your contacts, voicemails or text messages. Whatever the case may be, iExplorer comes built-in with the most powerful and easiest to use iTunes backup extractor.

What you will need

  • iExplorer
  • An iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  • A Mac or PC with iTunes installed
  • USB cable to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Before you begin

If you don't already have iExplorer installed, click here for more information, or download it using the link below.

Accessing Backups

If you're looking to browse files of an existing iPhone backup by iTunes or want a new iPhone backup - iExplorer lets you browse the raw files and folders that are created every time you backup your device with iTunes and it can seamlessly parse various database files such as your text messages, notes, voicemails, etc, thereby making everything easily readable and exportable. In the following tutorial we'll show you how you can easily browse and access these iTunes backup files on either a Mac or Windows computer.

Browse Current iTunes Backup on iPhone

To view the files and folders of the iTunes backup data that is currently on an iPhone or iPad, first open iExplorer on your Mac or PC. Then, go ahead and connect your device with its USB cable to your computer. Once the device is connected, iTunes may prompt you to sync your device - click "No" or "Cancel." We recommend that you avoid syncing the device to iTunes as, in some cases, doing this may result in the permanent loss of data from your device.
After your device is connected, iExplorer will display the Device Overview screen. You can return to this home screen at any time by clicking on your device's name in the navigation panel on the left. To get started accessing the device’s backup data, click Backups in the middle panel. You can also access the backups section on the device by clickingBackups through the sidebar on the left.
You'll then be prompted to make a backup selection. If you didn't already have an iTunes backup on this computer, iExplorer will ask whether to create one, either "Yes" or "No", or if you have an existing backup, you'll be asked whether to "Use Last Backup" or "Refresh" to create a new one. If it's been less than 24 hours since your last backup, iExplorer will automatically load the existing backup. If you need to make a newer one, you can right-click on Backups in the left panel and choose to refresh.

Browse Existing iTunes Backup of iPhone

With iExplorer, accessing the contents of a backup that was previously created by iTunes of an iOS device is easy. Simply start iExplorer then, if no device is connected, click “Explore iTunes Backups.” Then, in the left column of iExplorer you’ll see a section titled “Browse iTunes Backups” under which you’ll see all of the backups from iTunes listed. If a backup was encrypted at the time it was created, it may not appear here.

Browsing iTunes Backups

Once you have your backup selected, you can view the raw files and folders inside the backup by clicking “Backup Explorer.” Otherwise, you can click on Messages, Contacts, Voicemail, Call History, Notes, Safari or Calendar to access the database information from the backup but parsed together in a much more readable fashion. The raw files and directories of the iTunes backup can be easily transferred using drag-and-drop and additional access options are available from the right-click context menu.
