Karim al Hussayni is the Aga Khan IV, or Imam, of a denomination of Nizari Ismailism that comprises just under 10 percent of the world’s population of Shia Muslims. The denomination has around five to 15 million followers. He is considered as infallible, immune from sin and a living proof of God. He has the sole power and authority for the governance of all places of worships and institutions of the denomination. He has held the title of Aga Khan since 1957. While he does not have any geographic territory to preside, he owns hundreds of racehorses, stud farms and even an exclusive yacht club in Sardinia.

Albert II is the Prince of Monaco. He is considered to be the reigning monarch of the tiny principality and the head of the House of Grimaldi. He owns huge tracts of land in both Monaco and France. He also has substantial holdings in Societe des bains de mer de Monaco, or SBM, a holding company that owns and manages the Monte Carlo Casino, the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, and the Opera de Monte Carlo. It also owns restaurants, bars, night clubs, spas, golf clubs and beaches. Albert II has reigned since 2005.

Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani was the Emir of Qatar from 1995 until June 2013. He abdicated the throne in favor of his son, Tamim bin Hamad al Thani. He is credited for turning the country into a modern country. Under his rule, several world-class schools opened campuses in Qatar, including Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown and Northwestern. He also established the Qatar Museums Authority that has become the biggest buyer of contemporary art in the world. He also created the Doha Film Institute. He also set up the Qatar Investment Authority, a holdings company that owns shares in Harrods, Paris St. Germain football team, Miramax, Vivendi, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, Credit Suisse and Barclay. He also helped establish the Al Jazeera network.

Mohammed VI has been the King of Morocco since 1999. He and his family have shares in Omnium Nord Africain, or the ONA Group. The ONA Group is a holding company that has interests in various sectors, including financial services, food processing, mining and retail. His reign has been troubled, however, by allegations of corruption, with investors complaining that the King wants involvement and share in all big investments in the country.

Hans Adam II is the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein. Also known as the Duke of Troppau and Jagerndorf, Count Rietberg, his full name can be quite a mouthful. He goes by the name Johannes Adam Ferdinand Alois Josef Maria Marko d’Aviano Pius von und zu Liechtenstein. He has held the title since 1989. He owns the Liechtenstein Global Trust, or LGT Group, the largest family-owned manager of private wealth and assets in Europe. He also has an extensive art collection housed at the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna.

Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum is the Emir Sheik of Dubai, a title he has held since 2006. He is also the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. He is known for his hobby of thoroughbred horse racing and breeding. He has won several prestigious races, including the Preakness Stakes, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the Irish Derby Stakes and several British Classic Races. He also owns the Woodlands Stud empire. He was also behind several developments in Dubai, like the Palm Islands, The Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa.

Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan has been the Emir of Abu Dhabi since 2004. He is also the President of the United Arab Emirates. He is also the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, or ADIA. He also has interests in Dubai, Seychelles, Turkmenistan and Pakistan. A known philanthropist, he has donated extensively to the University of Wales and the University of Texas.

His full name is Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Saud. He has been the King of Saudi Arabia since 2005. He is also the custodian of the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina. He also serves as the President of the High Council for Petroleum and Minerals, as well as President of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, and head of the Military Service Council.

Through the Crown Property Bureau, he has interests in Siam Cement, Christiani & Nielsen, Deves Insurance, Siam Commercial Bank and Shin Corporation. He also owns the largest faceted diamond in the world called the Golden Jubilee Diamond.
